The Roma Medical 1485 Heavy Duty Car Transit Wheelchair is made from chromium plated steel making it a strong and stable platform which has been crash tested to ensure it meets current criteria for a safe wheelchair with a maximum user weight of 22 stone / 140 kg.

The 1485 has many features including progressive and parking braking system which allows attendent to more easily control the speed and to stop/park the wheelchair more securely.  This transit wheelchair also has 12" (30cm) puncture proof rear wheels ensuring the user has a smooth and comfortable ride.  There are 8" (20cm) solid tyre swivel castors at the front making it easier to guide the chair in any direction.

For extra comfort the Roma 1485 also has an upholstered vinyl seat and back which is flame retardant, padded armrests and swing-away detachable height adjustable footrests with heel straps.  These footrests swing sideways and can be removed to create space when not in use, or to allow easy movement in and out of the wheelchair.  They are also easily adjusted to fit users height and the heel straps prevent the users feet from sliding backwards.
